The American dream pop band Cigarettes After Sex is all set to perform in India once again as part of their X tour, with a series of shows scheduled for January 2025.
The group, known for their ethereal sound and atmospheric live performances, has built a global following since their debut and is now preparing to bring their unique live performance to Indian audiences.
The tour will span four major cities—Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Gurugram—beginning on 24 January 2025. Fans can expect to hear some of the band’s most well-known tracks, including “Apocalypse,” “K.,” and “Heavenly,” alongside newer materials from X album.
The band’s music, often described as a soothing blend of ambient and dream pop, explores themes of love, longing, and nostalgia. Their tracks have been making waves on Indian streaming platforms, and their upcoming tour is a testament to their growing popularity in the region.
Speaking about the upcoming tour, Gonzalez remarked in a recent interview, “India has long been a fan base with some of our most passionate fans. The level of passion for music in India is incredible. It’s amazing to see the audience’s electricity when they hear music in the right setting.” Source: The Hindu
Their presence in India is seen by some as part of a broader trend where international alternative and indie bands are increasingly turning to the Indian market. With a young, diverse, and growing audience for niche music genres, India has become a key stop for many global artists.
Tickets for the concerts are already sold out in a few cities. For many Indian fans, 2025 will mark a long-awaited opportunity to experience the band live—an opportunity that speaks not only to the group’s popularity but also to India’s evolving role in the international music landscape.
