In a major collaboration, Kavya Film Company and Friday Film House have come together for Aadu 3, the third installment of the popular Malayalam comedy franchise. Directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, the film is slated for a grand Christmas 2025 release.
The announcement was made during the early stages of production. The project marks the biggest film yet for both production houses.
Kavya Film Company, led by Venu Kunnappilly, has previously bankrolled blockbusters like 2018 and Malikappuram. Friday Film House, headed by Vijay Babu, known for championing debut directors, adds Aadu 3 as its 23rd venture.
Starring Jayasurya as the iconic Shaji Pappan, the film brings back the core ensemble, including Vinayakan, Saiju Kurup, Vijay Babu, and more. Reports suggest a few surprise appearances are also on the cards.

Aadu 2 Box Office: What’s in for Aadu 3?
Aadu (Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu) (2015) may have underperformed at the box office, but found cult status post its satellite and digital release. Its sequel, Aadu 2, turned into a box office phenomenon, grossing over ₹35 crore worldwide. The character-driven humour and Shaan Rahman’s signature background scores contributed to its massive popularity.
“Aadu 3” is expected to take the franchise in a more fantastical direction, with the team aiming for a larger-than-life cinematic experience. An on-set incident involving Vinayakan during a stunt sequence has already sparked curiosity.
