The emergence of a new hero?
Ordinary people end up becoming the greatest superheroes: the message seems to be the crux around which Bagheera revolves. But a few powers only make the deal sweeter. Betrayal from a parent unlocks the real hero hidden within police officer Vedanth. An unknown man is suddenly responsible for all the cold blooded murders that ransack the city. But these are not ordinary murders, they are the planned eradications of criminals that serve as ultimate examples of justice.
But can justice escape the clutches of the wicked? The answer is just a watch away.
Gearing up for Bagheera
Much of the talk surrounding the film has been about lead actor Srii Murali’s ACL tear, and, bone fracture on his knee, that almost made the actor rethink his career move. Described as the ‘second major injury’ in his life, Murali sat down for an interview with The Hindu where he remarked:
“My father introduced me to martial arts such as taekwondo, karate, and kung fu in my childhood. So, it was easy to train for the fight scenes in Bagheera. Chethan is a modern-day fight master. He has tried something fresh in the film. There is a terrace sequence where you will see the vigilante character as a stylish man fighting his enemies. Children will love some of the gadgets he uses in the fights. We have also executed an action scene on a train. It took more than a year to plan the sequence,”
If the actor’s words are anything to go by, it can be well reckoned why the film has a 7.5/10 rating on IMDb.
Final Thoughts
Bagheera aptly delves into complex themes of identity, belonging, and the exploration of human relationships. The characters are crafted meticulously, with nuances that resonate deep. The protagonist’s journey is not just an intricately personal odyssey but a reflection of broader societal issues, making the film both engaging and thought-provoking.
After receiving favourable reviews from critics, the movie became the highest-grossing Kannada film of 2024 with a gross of ₹29 crore.
